This is an authentic OEM part that has been sourced directly from Generac. Fuel valves are found in the fuel line right before the carburetor. They are commonly used in generators because they help protect the carburetor when your equipment is not in use for long periods of time. When the fuel vale is closed it stops the flow of fuel through the line to the carburetor so there is no stale fuel sitting in your carburetor while the generator isn?t in use. It is as simple as closing the valve and then burning the remainder of fuel in the carburetor. Not only does this help save your carburetor from the negative effects of stale fuel but it also can also help prevent fuel leaks. This fuel valve is made of plastic. Make sure you drain the fuel out of the tank and remove the spark plug before you begin this repair.
