Product Description

This authentic OEM approved replacement carburetor kit. It is designed for Generac generator engine. The purpose of this item is to mix air and gas creating a combustible mixture needed for the engine to run. This is a metal body carburetor which is sold individually. Please note gaskets are sold separately. Please note if the engine won't start or it starts and quickly dies you may want to test the carburetor. You can do so by removing air filter and pouring about a teaspoon of fuel into the carburetor. Pull the starter rope and if the engine starts and then quickly dies, carburetor is likely the problem. To complete this repair you would need a wrench.

Replace a carburetor
Turn off the gas at bottom of tank.
Remove the two bolts holding the air filter and filter.
Remove the 2 nuts and 2 bolts inside air filter housing.
Pull the red chock knob off.
Remove the throttle governor rod by prying it up and the spring.
Remove the filter housing at this time the carburetor will be loose .
Remove the clip holding the gas line and the hose.

To reinstall just reverse the order above.

Generator sat idle for six years. Carb gummed up. Purchased new carburetor.
Simple repair. Took air cleaner cover off. Removed air cleaner. Removed two nuts securing carburetor and disconnected governor linkage and spring. Pulled carburetor off and replaced with new. Returned linkages and covers, turned fuel supply on, and started motor.
