The numbers and words had worn off the knobs and couldn't read them anymore.
Removed the old knobs, put on the new knobs. Took all of 30 seconds for replacing both knobs.

Lavatory hot water handle "flew off" when plastic O ring seal broke
I gave my son the instructions for repair plus the repair parts sent to me by Moen and within 20 minutes the hot water faucet was replaced and working beautifully. Moen also sent the replacement part for the cold water faucet should it also break. Since my son was here and available I had him install a new Wetherly kitchen faucet, model #87999, which I had recently purchased. My sons know that mom can't do plumbing but it's so nice to have at least one son who tackles all those jobs!
