Product Description

This temperature sensor is a precision electronic component designed to monitor and regulate the internal air temperature within refrigerators and freezers. It continuously measures temperature changes and sends that data to the control system, allowing the appliance to adjust cooling cycles for consistent and efficient operation. Built with reliable, heat-sensitive materials, it helps maintain stable storage conditions while preventing issues such as uneven cooling or excessive frost buildup. It is an ideal replacement for restoring accurate temperature control and dependable performance in refrigeration systems.

My freezer is freezing up on the coils what could be the problem

Hello Al, thank you for reaching out to us. When evaporator coils freeze up, it indicates a failure in the automatic defrost system. Check the defrost heater, part number FIX12729037. The defrost heater physically melts the frost off the evaporator coils during the defrost cycle. If the heater is burned out, the frost will continuously build up until it blocks the coils. Also, check the thermistor, part number FIX12729038. If this sensor drifts out of its correct resistance range, it sends inaccurate temperature data to the control board. If it falsely tells the board that the coils are "warm" when they are actually freezing cold, the control board will never trigger the defrost heater. Before testing any of these components, you will need to defrost your freezer manually by turning it off for 24 hours with the door open. We hope this information helps!
