Product Description

This is an authentic recoil starter assembly for a lawnmower. This part consists of the starter rope, rope handle, and red plastic housing that encases it. This assembly is sold as one part (pre-assembled) and is what engages the flywheel when starting the motor. For this simple repair, start by making sure the engine has had time to cool off, the wire and boot have been removed from the spark plug, and the fuel valve is off. Remove the starter rope from the rope guide and then remove the nuts holding the recoil starter to the mounting bolts. This should allow you to pull the worn recoil starter out. To install your new part, hook the new starter rope to the rope guide. Line up the starter onto the mounting bolts and fasten the nuts.
