Do not over tighten the hose clamp; it should be just tight enough to compress the ring. GENTLY Tap the piston/ring assembly into the cylinder block: DO NOT FORCE IT. Reassemble the engine. Oh and make sure you put oil on the crank case plug o-ring seal before pressing it into the crank case.
