A deck wheel that drags, wobbles, or has a flat spot may no longer protect the turf correctly. The smooth roller touches the ground when the mower deck passes over a raised area, helping prevent the blade from cutting deep patches. Check deck level and tire pressure first because poor adjustment can also cause scalping. Match the replacement using the complete mower model and serial number, and compare the bore, width, bracket spacing, and required hardware. Shut off the engine, remove the key, set the parking brake, and disconnect the spark plug before service. Support the deck securely, tighten the fastener properly, and make sure the wheel turns freely.
