Burner was not working, other 3 on the stove were
There were 2 short screws underneath where the knobs are located. Once removed the stovetop lifted up just like the hood of a car does. I put a short piece of 2x4 to keep it propped up while I worked. Turns out not only was the burner bad but 2 wires and a connector were burnt out as well. I stripped the wires back a little and crimp ed them into a new connector. One thing to note which makes the job easier is that there are numbers around the burner, it makes it easier to know where the clips that hold the burner up go. My stove didn't have screws but clips. Just make sure they snap in really good before you close it all back up. Good luck!
