This is a compression spring for trimmers and edgers. The purpose of the compression spring is to provide tension to the trimmer head feed assembly. How do you install this compression spring so that the auto string feed works as it should? Do you have a video or a link. Such a small spring. I am sure it fits btwn the slider but how? TY

Hello Carl, thank you for your question. We do not have a video for the spring. We have found an instruction posting that may be of some help. Removed the spool cap. Removed the spool. Pushed the plastic slider in as far as I could with my fingers then used a flat head screwdriver to pry up from underneath to release it. Inserted new spring into the end of the new plastic slider. Placed everything back in reverse order. We hope this helps.

I went to replace the spool and the guy at the hardware store said I missing a sprint. So I looked on Amazon and found the compression spring but I don't think it's the right one as it's approximately 3/4 of an inch and just falls out of the spool hole. I'm wondering what kind of spring to get and which spring because the one I have is not working.

This spring appears to be used with with the plastic line advancement tab, isn't there a larger spring which is inside the line head unit, likely going between the head base/line spool/spool cover somewhere?
