Product Description

This is the replacement door gasket with flap for your refrigerator. This door gasket is designed for use with a French door style refrigerator. Your refrigerator will have two door gaskets, and each is sold individually. It is black in color and is made of rubber. The door gasket runs along the circumference of each door and creates a seal. If the gasket is damaged or worn out, cold air can leak out of the refrigerator and warmer air can also leak in. To replace the gasket, you can simply pull the old one off the door, and carefully place the new one back into position, ensuring that the door closes properly afterwards. This is a genuine OEM part from the manufacturer.

Gasket flap split at base and caused air leaks.
I realized the old one was a wedge into a slot, so I just pulled it out and started at one corner to wedge the new one in. The circuit board was bad on this fridge(dont buy GE) so the tech fixed that and advised a warm air tube was best to properly get the gasket to seat( hair dryer). He worked it around and wedged as well so that there w ere no gaps in the door and gasket. BTW: you can replace the circuit board yourselves and save hundreds of dollars. It is behind the fridge and you just unplug the connectors and pinch the board holders and out it comes, I wasted much money having someone else do it. Ge quality is not very good; as this is only a 4 year old refrigerator.
