If your washer isn’t cleaning clothes like it used to, the agitator might be the issue. This part spins back and forth to help scrub dirt from fabrics, using a central shaft and fins to move clothes around. When it’s broken, you might hear strange noises or notice your laundry isn’t getting evenly cleaned. Replacing a worn agitator can restore your washer’s performance and help eliminate lingering odors caused by leftover residue.

Remove the bolt from the agitator, but it won't lift out. Sprayed with WD40, let it sit overnight. Still can't remove. Any suggestions.
For model number MVWC565FW1
Hi Charles, thank you for reaching out. Pour 2 cups of very hot or boiling water directly into the center where the bolt was. The heat can dissolve soap scum and cause a thermal shock that pops the agitator free. Otherwise, slide a strong nylon strap, rope, or even a sturdy leather belt under the base of the agitator. Loop it over a 2x4 board laid across the top of the washer tub to act as a lever. Pull straight up firmly while wiggling the agitator side-to-side. We hope this sorts out your problem!
