Product Description

This is the replacement water valve for your dishwasher. The water inlet valve connects to the water source and solenoid wires, and ensures the tub has the right amount of water entering it. If your dishwasher continues to fill after it is full, or if it fills slowly, you may need to replace this valve. Before you begin this repair, be sure to disconnect the water and power sources from your dishwasher. This part is sold individually and is an OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer.

With the door open and the machine not in operation the water just started filling and overflowing on the kitchen floor. Is this a faulty inlet valve or something else???

Hi Robert, thank you for reaching out. Yes, a faulty water inlet valve can be causing the issue. Its internal diaphragm or seal has likely failed or become jammed by sediment. This prevents the valve from closing mechanically, allowing water to flow into the tub even when the machine is powered off or the door is open. You may need to replace it to fix the issue. It was very simple. It was just a matter of tilting the dishwasher and removing the screws . The new part fitted perfectly. Remember to turn the power off

Dishwasher would not fill with water
Because we didn't know which part to replace, I ordered both parts and we replaced them both. We installed the water inlet valve first which was difficult to reach, It would have been an easy install but because of its location, that made it harder. Water still didnt come into dishwasher, installed the Float Switch Kit, and it all worked! The Float Switch was much easier to install, so wish we would have done that one first. But it all works now, and even tho we installed a part not needed, we still saved a lot of money doing it ourselves. This site gives pretty good instructions, even if my dishwasher wasn't as easy as the instructions say .
