The piece slides out easily. There is a second part that comes with it - another flat piece that gets screwed into the bottom of the ash tray. You don’t get new screws so you use the old ones. Still very simple.
removed old tray, removed gas tank shield ( 4 screws ) replaced shield. Tray slid right into place, good as new. Cannot say enough about fix.com, always seem to have the parts needed or will special order. Old grill like new.
