What is the outside dimension of the round plug? Is it male or female?

Removed 4 Torx screws in the handle. Removed the Rubber Gromet and lifted wires. Slipped the black wire onto its connector. Cut the neutral wire near the center of the handle and connected the new neutral wire with small electrical connectors which are then squeezed on each end with a pliers.
