Burned out element
Pull out, then unplug the range. Unscrew the 2 screws holding down the cooktop. Prop it up, (I used a 12" mallet :), take a picture of the element being replaced with your phone to ensure the wiring is replaced properly). Unplug the wires connecting that element, then unscrew the attachment screws (2). Reinstall wiring and reattach to t he cooktop per your photo previously obtained. Remove the mallet, lower the cooktop, plug in the range, test that the element turns on. Yay! Screw down the cooktop, push back in, enjoy the rest of your day!
