Ice Maker stopped making ice
I am definitely not mechanically inclined, but labor costs to have someone come and install a new ice maker would have amounted to roughly four times the amount of the part itself. So I decided to try doing it myself. Installing the new ice maker assembly was made pretty easy, even for me, lol, thanks to the very detailed instructional vi

deo from Steve at this site. All I did was follow along step by step, and the only tools I needed was a 1/4 inch nut driver and a small flat head screw driver. In less than 30 minutes I had the new ice maker installed and it works great!

Ice maker overflowed and filled freezer with ice.
replaced the ice maker but that was not the problem. just ordered a water solenoid valve. let's see if that solves the problem. Removed one screw and the wiring jack. replaced the ice maker and the jack. took less than 15 minutes.

The ice maker stoped making iceit had water supply. Went on line and recomended I replace the ice maker unit
The ice maker came fully assembled all I had to do was replace the base from the old one to the new one (3-screws).Since it is just a simple snap in connection I didn't disconnect the refrigerator. I replace the unit connected the plug in connector and 15 minutes later it started dispensing ice. It was a simple fix and its been working re

Nice to have Ice again!
My icemaker stopped making ice, there were ice cubes stuck in the machine. I was able to use my hair drier to remove the stuck ice and tried replacing the water filter as a fix. That caused water to pour into the inside of the freezer. When I turned off the ice maker the water stopped so I figured it was probably the control board in the ice maker. After looking at videos on YouTube it became apparent that it would be much easier to just replace the whole unit since it slides out and you just have to pop the new machine onto the old base. So I opted to do that even thought it was a little more pricey than just the one part. I was able to complete the job after watching Steve's video again. The worst part was unplugging the current ice maker, I wasn't strong enough and it took some yanking to get it off. The rest went smoothly and now my ice bucket is full. Cheers!
