Broken manifold probe, inoperable flap on feed tube assembly, and broken piece on chopper assembly
Neither my husband nor I had ever fixed a dishwasher; all we knew was that it wasn't getting the dishes clean. We started by looking at the filter, which needed cleaning but didn't fix the problem. Next we did a load of visibly dirty dishes to see which section of the dishwasher was having trouble (top middle). From there we looked up tro ubleshooting on our model and saw that one of the most likely problems would be the manifold probe, which we saw had a broken tip. The excellent diagrams on the website helped a lot.Then we read that the flaps on the feed tube assembly should close when the probe was not in it so we had to replace one of those. While everything else was out, we checked the chopper assembly and saw some plastic pieces had broken off. We placed our order and the parts from site arrived in a couple of days. Replacing the probe was simple--we just had to be careful not to break the tip. Replacing the feed tube assembly took a minute to snap in, but otherwise simple. The chopper assembly took the most time, since it involved taking out screws and removing the filter. Once everything was put back together, the dishwasher worked great.
