Please note that this manufacturer-approved cap has a diameter of 1.42 inches. If the original cap is bigger than that, you may need to replace the entire dispenser assembly. This part is commonly replaced because the dishwasher is not properly dispensing detergent, or it is leaking detergent. Be sure to assess the condition of the rinse aid cap as well as the gasket. This rinse aid cap comes with a gasket, so the old one can be tossed. For this simple DIY repair, open the dishwasher door, turn the old cap a quarter-turn counterclockwise to remove it.
