The repair should have been easy, in theory, but the screws securing the burners were "frozen" in place. This is bad engineering, and a shame that the unit must be scrapped.

Unplugged power. Removed top of cooktop using torx tool, removed ignitor switches from each gas valve and disconnected the wiring. installed new ignitor switches onto each gas valve and connected wiring. All connectors were the correct size and type. Plugged in power cord and tested. Worked like new. This was very easy.
