When started, door would lock. No water flow. No other response.
I started by disconnecting the machine from power and water. I removed the rear cover and top cover (2 Phillips screws each). Seeing as there was no water flow I pulled off the plugs connected to the 3 cold water valve solenoid coils and measured their resistance. Two of the coils measured about 1000 ohms. The third coil measured abou t 10 megohms. It controlled prewash water flow, and had obviously failed open circuit. Removing the old part needs a Phillips screwdriver for the two screws holding it to the rear of the unit, and a large pair of pliers to remove the spring hose clamps. Then the hoses pull off, albeit a little reluctantly. Installation of the new part is just the reverse. It took me about 10 minutes. I should mention that when removing the old part, it's easier to remove the 2 screws first. This way you have better access to the hose clamps, and a better grip on the hoses.
