Timer knob broke off and could not be re-attached.
Very simple fix. Remove three screws (torx bit) from top of control panel, pivot control panel forward, and you will see the timer. Simply unplug the harness, and lift the captive lever slightly, and timer assembly will slide right out. Install new timer, plug harness in, and it is done. Easily done in under 10 minutes.

My dryer would not shut off on any of the settings without pushing in the knob or opening the door. After looking at Part Select, I was pretty sure the timer was the issue.
The process to replace the timer was extremely easy. Remove the know and sleeve from the front, then remove the 3 screws on he top. After unplugging the wiring harness, the timer just slides off. First unplug dryer from wall outlet and ensure no energy is present. There is a schematic inside control panel.Remove plastic cover from timer knob with flat bit screwdriver. May have to squeeze nylon fingers together in center of knob, pull timer knob off. Remove three Phillips head bolts from top of control panel. Roll panel forward. Un

plug timer, slide old timer out, slide in new, replace plug. Reinstall timer knob and plastic cover. Roll control panel back in place and reinstall the three bolts. Plug in dryer to outlet and dry clothes.
