Water Inlet Valve - 120V 50/60Hz

Replacing the valve is a very simple process. 6 small self tapping 1/4" screws are removed from the access plate on the bottom of the fridge. The valve is on the left hand side. Remove the screws from the valve and holding the valve in your hand press down on the port and holding the port down gently pull on the hose. The port is the ... Read more plastic that the hose is sticking out of, if you look at it, it will stick above the base of the valve about 1/8". Push until it is seated against the base of the valve and holding it in that position, pull gently on the hose, it will come right out. After you have removed the 3 hoses, disconnect the two electical connections. Replace the hoses by pressing slowly but firmly into the new valve and reattach the valve with the 2 self tapping screws to the fridge. The entire repair took less than 20 minutes.

First unplug, turn off the water and take off the lower back of the refrigerator with a nut driver that fits the screws. After you have located the water inlet valve, unscrew it from the frame of the refrigerator to make disconnecting and connecting the new hoses easier. Replace them into the new water inlet valve by pressing them very deeply until you feel them lock into place. Pull slightly to make sure they are locked in. Plug the refrigerator back in and turn on the water to make sure there are no leaks. After confirming there are no leaks finish securing the valve back on the frame and placing the lower part of the refrigerator back on and securing the screws where you removed them. I still had a slight leak inside the refrigerator and I believe it was due to my water pressure. I turned down the valve that connects to the refrigerator and is has not leaked since.
