Broken lid corner lockdown clip. Original was plastic. Replacement was metal (much better)
Unscrew two Phillips head screws located inside lint screen compartment. Then use a putty knife to press and insert under the lid at each front corner to compress the lid lock/clip. Raise the lid. Remove broken clip. Snap in new clip. Close the lid. Replace the two Phillips head screws. Celebrate a simple job well done with a beer.
