This is genuine manufacturer sourced replacement part. It is specially made for use with Homelite chainsaws. The chain plays a key function because it is what directly cuts the material. Over time chains have a tendency to stretch, become dull or break requiring replacement. This 16 inch chain is made out of metal and it is sold individually. To replace this item you will need a wrench set and a screwdriver. • Make sure the too is not powered • First you want to remove the guide bar side panel • Release the chain tension • Remove the old chain • Loosen the tension screw • Thread the new chain onto the saw • Align the guide bar • Replace the side plate • Tighten the chain to the correct tension • Finish tightening the side plate nuts
