This is a genuine Craftsman replacement part. This nut is a commonly used in wet/dry vacuums, without this nut your vacuum will not run efficiently, or it might not run at all. The filter nut helps provide the required support for the filter plate inside the filter cage, and it holds the filter in place. To replace the filter nut simply screw the nut in place, by threading the nut onto the threaded filter cage. Be sure to unplug the wet/dry vacuum before installing the replacement filter nut, and ensure the filter is secured on the vacuums filter cage before using.
