It is a genuine manufacturer-approved part which is specially designed for use with Briggs and Stratton engines commonly installed on lawn and garden equipment. The purpose of the switch-interlock is to act as a safety feature which will shut the engine off. Unfortunately, over time parts will wear out and it may begin to fail eventually requiring a replacement. Refer to the owners manual and the appropriate diagrams of your model for the correct location and installation of this component. Note, this high-quality plastic body switch-interlock is sold individually.
