This is a genuine item which is supplied by the original equipment manufacturer for use with Briggs and Stratton engines commonly installed on lawn and garden equipment. It is a complete assembly which includes the housing, the cover, the main pleated paper filter and the foam pre-filter. The purpose of this component is to ensure that the air supplied to the engine is free of dust and other harmful contaminants, over time it may wear out or get damaged eventually requiring a replacement.
