Everything was working fine, I just happen to open and double check if the laundry was dry and then it wouldn’t start. My kids like to play with the safety switch that’s inside the door frame. So I’m wondering if I need to replace the push start button and safety mechanism. Thanks for hearing me out
For model number LEN2000JQ1
Hello John, Thank you for the question. When the door was opened it could have shorted out the Dryer Door Switch. You can test it with a multi-meter to confirm it has continuity. If you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week. Please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you!
The dryer thermal fuse, also sometimes referred to as the thermal cut off or temperature fuse, is a 2 by 1/2-inch, white, plastic safety mechanism that halts the flow of electricity to the motor circuit when a dryer over...
Removed the screws from both back panels to gain access to the Push-To-Start-Switch and complete rear unit. Removed vent hose and panel for easier install of components due to dryer in garage. Matched up each replacement component to the old parts. Removed old part with wires still attached to ensure wires were replaced correctly. All parts are attached with screws making it easy to remove and replace. Dryer works perfectly. A very easy project.
The dryer would not start when the start button was pushed.
I turned off the gas, unplugged the dryer for safety. Pulled the dryer out from the wall and cleaned all debris away. I used a small wrench to remove the cover on the back, top of the dryer. I discovered the electrical sematic and read the description of the machine. I used the sematic to identify the part number and googled the part number, and ordered the part. When the part arrived a couple of days later I installed the part (push to start switch) and replaced in sematic sheet and attached the back cover, turned the gas on checked for leaks using water with soap in it. Plugged the machine in and it worked.

When the dryer wouldn’t start, I found Fix.com online and after a speedy delivery of parts and a specially linked how-to video, I saved $400 easily by fixing my 20-year-old dryer myself and not having to buy a new appliance.
And the family approves!
Thanks for a great service!
