Dryer timer would stop during cycle and dryer would stay hot and running continously.
Unplug dryer from electrical supply. Pull the knob off the timer from the front. Use a nut driver to remove about 6 screws securing the cover behind the controls. Use the nut driver to remove 2 screws holding holding the timer in place. These are in the back, on either side of the timer. Place the old timer in close proximity to the new times and move wires - ONE AT A TIME - from old to new timer. There is a noticeable difference between timers where the old one has a jumper wire on the left side but the new one incorporates this into the metal contact in the timer itself - you don't have to worry about this. I took the precaution of using my iPhone to take half a dozen photos from different angles of the wire connections so they could be referred to in case the wires got mixed up. Reattached the timer using the 2 screws, then replace the rear cover using those screws. install the timer knob from the font. Plug the dryer back in to the electrical supply. Test with a small load of cloths on a short cycle and stay nearby to make sure the timer shuts off as it should. This cured the problem with my dryer.

Dryer would not turn on
Unplugged the dryer. Unscrewed 4 screws to remove the top panel cover. Unscrewed the old timer from the panel. Held the new timer next to the old timer and one at time, unplugged one wire and plugged it into the same space on the new timer. I had already read others' instructions and was prepared that the new timer had a new configurat ion so I would need 2 less plugs. I screwed the new timer into place. Reseated the top panel cover and screwed it onto the base. Plugged in the dryer. I was thrilled when I hit the button and it TURNED ON!!! YIPPY!!!!!
