Dryer timer would not advance. Dryer stayed on.
I watched the video on the website, it looked so easy. Because of that, I decided to try the repair myself, yes, a 55 year old woman. I DID IT! I removed the back of the control panel, then removed the knob from the front. I was not expecting all the dust, but was able to get it out.of the back of the machine. Two quarter inch screws hel d the timer in place. After removing them, I was able to unplug each wire and plug it into the new timer, one at a time so I would not confuse where each one needed to be. Then I noticed that the colors were marked on the timer box already. I replaced the screws and returned the back panel and front knob. I plugged the dryer back in, turned it on, and I stood there watching as the timer advanced! It was easy and saved me money on labor. Thanks!
