the timer was bad.
Unplugged the dryer first to prevent any shock. Took the correct socket size an removed the back. Once the back was removed I took the wires off the old timer an put them on the new timer. I then closed up the back plugged in the power cord . Took the cloths out the washer that the wife just washed put them in the dryer set the tim er to see if it was connected right start it an ran it for a while to see if it was drying. With my fingers crossed I was successful an everything worked properly.
