Replacing belt
First watched some you tube videos, to see how to get dryer apart, the one issue I had was getting the belt onto pulley etc. I found if I removed small access panel in back it was a lot easier than trying to reach in from the front as shown in most of the online videos

belt broke after 38 years
Removed vent pipe pulled it away from the wall. Unplugged it,and ground wire. Opened top and loosened front.installed new belt and figured out tensioner worked (that took time!) and picked up broken belt. Put back together.

Drive belt broke after 24 years of service
Disconnect power. Removed four screws from the top of the door opening. These screws have a star pattern and require a star type screw driver. With the four screws removed, lift the front edge of the top and rotate it upward to a vertical position for access to the drum. Locate and remove two screws located at the inside top corners secur

ing the front panel. Disconnect two door switch wires. Loosen, but don't remove the two screws at the front bottom corners of the machine that secure the bottom of the front panel. Lift the front panel up about an inch and rotate the front panel 90 degrees to the right. Using a vacuum, start vacuuming accumulated lint and dirt. Lift the dyer drum up slightly and pull forward. Vacuum and set aside. Vacuum lint and dirt from dryer housing. At the back of the dryer, remove the dryer duct and remove the black panel at the bottom of the housing. Check drum slides at the front of the machine and replace if damaged or worn. Reinstall the dryer drum, draping the new drive belt around the drum prior to engaging the bearing pin at the rear. From the opening at the bottom rear of the machine, tread the drive belt around the motor drive pulley and the tensioner wheel. The portion of the drive belt coming from the left side of the drum (as seen from the rear) must engage the right side of the tensioner wheel before going around the motor drive pulley. This will provide proper drive tension. Re install rear cover and re install the dryer exhaust duct. From the front, re install the front panel and install the two top screws. Then tighten the two bottom screws that were left loose. Re connect the door switch wires. Lower the top and install the four screws at the top of the door opening. Test the dryer operation.
