Product Description

If your current timer knob has become cracked or otherwise damaged, this is the replacement part you will need. This knob is meant for D-shaped shafts only. The timer knob allows you to select the amount of time your dryer will run for, so if broken can make setting the time and starting your dryer difficult. It is approximately 3 inches in diameter and is made of durable white plastic. No tools are required for this repair, just pull the existing knob straight off the shaft and install the replacement. Knobs are sold individually and are sourced from the manufacturer.

My dryer would not start
Step 1. After unplugging the dryer from the wall outlet, Removed 6 screws holding the back cover of the instrument panel.
Step 2. Removed the start switch by gently twisting left and pulling out of the socket.
Step 3. Removed the three wires, one at a time and placed them on the new start switch, then installed the new switch in its socket by gently twisting to the right.
(Note: plugged power cord back in and tried the new Start Switch. Still would not start.)
Step 4. Removed the Timer Knob by pulling strait off the shaft, then replaced with the new knob. Pushed the Start button and the Dryer worked. The old knob was obviously stripped so as to slip on the Timer shaft, giving the impression it was moving but it was not.

Broken Timer
originally the know broke, then we used pliers to twist the timer until it broke. Fix was simple, removed 2 screws, tilted the control face forward, removed the old timer, pulled off the wires and replaced in exact position on new timer switch, replaced new timer, put back in the screws and put on the new knob. Like new.

the plastic knob has a plastic cylinder on the inside..it was cracked..knob just spun around, wouldn't catch the metal timer arm.
took broken one off..slid new one on. The part of this story that is the best part is that I ordered the piece..got it quickly and it fit and it was the right part! Years ago I would have had to call a repairman..thank goodness for parts places like this..I can do this myself!

Original knob broke inside and became loose and unuseabel.
I only had to open the shipping box which was packed very nicely and barely larger than the knob. I then took the knob out of its protective plastic bag and slid knob onto the stud which turns the timer. Repair made in seconds.

Watched video to determine possible problems. Determined collar inside the timer knob had broken and proper contact was missing. New timer knob was purchased and cost of repairman was averted.
