Product Description

This thermal fuse limiter is used in dryers to monitor the temperature and make sure it does not overheat. The thermal fuse has a limit of 220 degrees Fahrenheit before the heating element and power are cut off. If your thermal fuse has blown or is damaged then your dryer will not start, can over heat, or take too long to dry. It is important to replace the fuse to solve the above problems. For this repair, you will need a Philips screwdriver, putty knife, and a needle nose plier. As a safety precaution, remember to unplug dryer from power source to avoid electrocution when installing this part. Refer to the manual provided by the manufacturer for further instructions.

dryer would not dry anything. The heating unit would not stay on.
First unplug the unit from the power source. You must disassemble the dryer to get to the cycling thermostat. Using a Philips screwdriver, remove the panel below the dryer, then you must remove the control panel just above the first panel you removed. Both of these pieces are held in place with 2 screws each. The control panel also ha s 2 clips that hold it in place, bit you can use a stiff putty knife to separate it from the dryer. The next thing is to remove the remaining front panel which supports one side of the drum. The top panel must be removed first which will allow you to remove the remaining front panel. The next thing is to reach in below the drum and slip the drive belt off the motor by pushing the idler tensioner to relax the belt. You can remove the drum by lifting up the drum from its place. A quick jerk will dislodge the drum from its place. The cycling thermostat is located on the back panel on the left side, held on by 2 screws. remove the 2 wires and the 2 screws remove the bad thermostat. Repeat these instructions in reverse order to complete the job.

dryer was overheating
I followed the video, removed front cover, kept drum in place, which made removing screws harder, but I managed well enough

Dryer was getting too hot and shutting itself off for safety reasons
Watched the video. Wasn't accurate for my stackable, but gave an insight where the thermal limiter can be found. Took off top of dryer and there it was. Did not have to remove drum. Easy fix for this job, works like new.
