Hi,
I have 6 of your D5000 , D5140 drill drivers that will spin, until you grab the chuck the gears are slipping and will not turn the chuck. I have moved the selector to 1-2 and it makes no difference and will not drill. Could this be an issue with the gear box assembly....Item # 6 on schmatics. Any suggestions. Thanks

Hello Marty, thank you for reaching out. According to our research, the problem seems to be with the Gear Box Assembly and you may need to replace it, the part number is FIX12096679. If the gear box assembly is bad, will it cause the gears/chuck to slip and make a grinding noise? Thanks
