Broken Heating Element
Our dishes weren't drying or getting appropriately clean. The heating element had corroded all the way through. We have a water softener and very hard water. This left the heating element rusted and corroded all the way through. The instructions for installation are available on YouTube. Similar to other heating elements, you simply disconnect the power to the unit. Pull it away from the wall, disconnect the wires to the heating element, and unscrew the two heating element nuts on the rear underside of the dishwasher. Open the dishwasher and pull out the lower rack. Remove the old heating element, and replace with the new one. Close the dishwasher. Re-screw the nuts onto the new element prongs and re-attach the wires. Push the dishwasher unit back under the cabinet and attach the screws. Re-plug the unit into the wall, and ensure that you reinstall the lower rack. That's it. This is a 20 minute job and will bring your dishwasher back to life.
