Door Gasket - Black

Corrective action was to pull the old gasket, clean the area from which it was removed and replaced the old door gasket with a new gasket.

After inspecting the dishwasher for the cause of the leak at the lower right-hand corner of the door, I noticed a small chunk of the rubber door seal missing at the top-right, where it curves up and over the door. I also consulted their "Help" posts on the site to see if I could learn what to expect. The only thing that I want to add is that you will not need any tools to replace the door seal. The old seal should come out by simply pulling it out with your fingers. Then, clean the channel out being careful not to bend the flange in any way. If there is still some seal material or other matter left in the seal channel, I use an old credit card to scrape it out. I also found it very helpful to lay the new seal out on the floor and mark the center (seal-side-out)with a piece of masking tape. This will help you install it by starting at the center at the top. The center will be exactly below the latch. Then, sequentially press the seal in along the channel a little at a time using the old "two-thumbs-together" technique. Work the seal in a little at a time until it is seated all the way. You'll have to go over it several times. Visually check it often. This is where that piece of tape stuck in the middle helps, as the ends of the seal will have the right amount of overlap at the bottom on each side. (Don't ask how I know this!) Then remove the tape. For the first few cycles of the washer, you will find that the door will need some extra help to close it. Push it firmly shut at each upper corner until the latch has grabbed. Then initiate a cycle and watch for leaks. There should be none. Allow the washer to fully cool before opening the door. This will ensure that the new seal has seated and is conforming to the door.
