Door on soap dispenser wouldn't stay shut. Soap was being dispensed early.
I watched the video and the repair went exactly as advertised. In about 20 minutes it was done and I did not need a repairman or a new dishwasher. For the cost of the part, our washer is good to go!

Dishes not getting clean, detergent door doesn't open all the way
The motor was unlatching the detergent door, but the door did not open fully, so at the end of the cycle there was usually caked detergent still in the well. The problem was probably the spring to open the door. It was either worn out, or binding against its setting. There seems no way to fix it, as the spring is bound by a plastic rivet inside a plastic housing, so opening it would destroy the thing. The replacement looks exactly the same. It was easy to install, just watch the video. The only tricky part is supporting the door panel on and off.

detergent latch was worn out.
The video that was recommended to do the job was perfect for the replacement. I recommend watching it before you start taking the old part out. The job was very simple and only took about 5 minutes to do. Well worth the 50 bucks versus spending 400 to 500 for a new dishwasher. Dont forget to unplug the unit before you start repairing.
