It is a genuine manufacturer-sourced replacement component which is made for Ridgid air compressors. This regulator controls the pressure of the air coming from the tank to the desired level. If your pressure regulator assembly is damaged or it malfunctions, this will provide an identical replacement for the original part that was installed on a new unit. Make sure to unplug the air compressor release all the air from the tank before installing this part. Always depressurize the tank before servicing an air compressor. To do this, open the drain valve and wait until all of the air (and pressure) has escaped. This high-quality assembly is made of durable metal and is sold individually. Note, the knob is sold separately. Check the appropriate diagrams for your model to ensure the proper replacement procedure. A wrench set will be needed to perform this repair.
