Espresso pressure cap
The pressure cap to my Krups espresso maker finally broke after many years of daily coffees. Krups no longer makes this particular model, and had no replacement parts available. Found a cap on Fix.com that wasn't an exact match, but had the pressure switch that I needed. A little minor "surgery" to swap the switches, and my espresso machine is alive again! Fix.com allowed easy web ordering and quick delivery. I will definitely check here first if any of my other appliances break down. I figure I saved at least $100.00 by repairing rather than replacing my machine.

Long Shot
The part didn’t fit my machine. Other purchasers removed the inside screw mechanism and sealing gasket with good results attaching it to their old cap. It still didn’t work. There is good news. We bought a new machine, the cap is a direct replacement as is the coffee grounds holder and the collection unit from our old espresso maker. We’re set hopefully for another ten years.

A good hack for Krups 963 mini boiler cap
While the cap I ordered does not precisely fit the machine being repaired, the internal piece affixed by screws is still correct. I removed the screws on both lids, and transposed the internal pieces. My machine works like new again, no steamy leaks from the boiler cap and good pressure buildup for espresso. Thank you for an affordable repair to my beloved coffee maker.

Wrong cap, right part
Our beloved basic espresso machine's boiler cap broke, and new models don't compare to the simplicity and goodness of this one. Fix.com had the replacement cap and sent it within a few days. Unfortunately, it was the wrong cap, but to our delight, the new cap had the very same part within that was the broken part in our cap, and we were able to extract it from the replacement cap and install it in our cap. We're expecting many more years of delicious espresso from our simplistic little machine. Thanks Fix.com.

Fixing my Krupps
The cap fit just fine and was basically like the original. It brought my Krupps back to life vs the landfill. The shipping cost more than the replacement part, probably because I only needed one item. It was delivered in the window that was promised.
