This is a genuine OEM sourced component which is specially designed for use with Krups expresso makers. It is an identical replacement for a missing or a faulty piston that was installed on a new unit. This is the piston that helps to build up the pressure in the boiler brew chamber. O rings on piston worn allowing coffee to escape into appliance
Remove top from appliance (6 screws)
Remove screws securing grinder
Remove screw holding piston and disconnect plastic line
Remove piston by slightly turn grinder to allow clearance
To install reverse above procedure

Replacement piston for Krups 8250
When the O rings on the piston begin to wear out the seal is broken thus preventing all the coffee from being forced up to the dispenser and preventing full removal of the grounds. This part corrects the problem. My unit started to fail at around the count of 4500 cups.
