The torsion spring attaches to the lower blade guard and the gear box & armature. It is an authentic OEM sourced item which is specially produced for use with Ridgid circular saws. Keep in mind that this part is sold individually. A screwdriver, a set of pliers, and a socket set may be helpful when replacing this item. It is made of metal and will need to be replaced if it breaks or bends.
