This authentic manufacturer-sourced part is specially designed for use with DeWALT chop saws. The purpose of the cap is to secure the carbon brush in the tool, unfortunately, over time it may wear out and may begin to fail eventually requiring a replacement. This cap has external threads that thread into the housing of the tool. Please make sure to refer to the appropriate diagrams of your model for the correct location and application of this component.
