Product Description
This genuine OEM drive gear, also referred to as a drive sprocket, is designed for electric chainsaws. It is a plastic wheel, measuring approximately 4 inches in diameter, with a metal shaft in the center. The drive gear allows the chain to move around the bar and perform the cutting action. It is common for the drive gear to wear out from frequent use over time and need replacement. It should also be replaced if it is damaged, cracked, or no longer able to securely hold the metal shaft in the center. A faulty drive gear will result in the chain slipping or stalling, excessive noise, instability, overheating, and potential injury. To begin the repair, disconnect the chainsaw from the power source and de-tension the chain. Remove the chain, bar, and housing cover to access the drive gear. Remove the fasteners that hold the gear in place and pull it off the motor. Align the new drive gear on the mounting block and secure it with the appropriate fasteners. Finish the repair by reassembling the equipment in reverse order.
