This is a genuine Husqvarna part for use with Chainsaws. The Chain brake stops the chain when engaged or in the event of kickback. The most common reason for replacing the chain brake is when the chain brake is not engaging or stopping when the brake is applied, the brake band is not tightening around clutch drum, cannot reset the chain brake, the handguard is not engaging the chain brake assembly and the chain brake components are cracked or damaged. This part is sold individually. Here is a list of tools that are needed to replace the chain brake a chain adjustment tool (Scrench); or ratchet/socket/wrench set, flat-blade screwdriver, long-handled screwdriver, Phillips driver, Torx drivers and long-nosed pliers. Let the engine cool and disconnect the spark plug wire before installing this part.
