This is an authentic OEM part for use with Poulan Chainsaws. The bar adjuster screw adjusts the tension of the bar to keep the cutting chain tight. This part is sold individually. The most common reasons for replacing the bar adjuster screw is if it cannot adjust the chain tension, the chain frequently loses tension and is too loose, the screw is not tightening in the housing, the threads are stripped on the tension screw or pin, or the pin is broken or cracked. Here is a list of tools that are needed to replace the bar adjuster screw a chain adjustment tool (Scrench); or ratchet/socket/wrench set, flat-blade screwdriver, and a long-handled screwdriver. Let the engine cool and disconnect the spark plug wire before installing this part.
