i bought 2 light fixtures to replace the ones on my hunter fans because they quit working. the colors on the quick connect boxes do not match up with the original one. I pulg them in and the fan works but no light. if i take it out, the fan stops also.

Thank you for your question. Before we can provide you with information on the correct parts for your ceiling fan, we will need the model number from it. If your Hunter fan is a downrod-mount fan, the model number will be found on an ID sticker on the top of the motor housing facing the ceiling. If you have a low-profile Hunter fan, the ID sticker with the model number will be found on the mounting bracket. The model number will be a 5-digit number sometimes with a letter after it. The fan switch broke instead the plastic casing, the pull chain no longer worked.
I had to unsnap the light kid wires. This was the only real problem. There was no easy way to get the plastic cover connector to let go of the wires so I could connect them with the new wiring assembly to the fan. ... Read moreme to finally pry the plastic casing loose enough to pull out the wire. I asked 4 different people to try, including an electrician who said to cut the wires and skip the plastic casing protector. Total time I spent trying to get the two little casings to "let go" was, at a minimum 30 minutes pulling tugging, trying to find something I could trigger to release any snapping mechanism that was holding the wires securely (very securily) in place. I finally managed to get the wires to release, after that it was basic simply assembly of the fan kit, light kit plugged back into the main unit and putting the chains and glass bowl over the lights. I AM DELIGHTED to finally be able to get the part I've needed for over 5 years, no one on the web could help me, after posting at Hunter online site, I got the part number (6 months later) I tracked the part to the Fix website, ordered it and it was shipped and arrived quickly. Yay to FIX for being the fastest part of my solution.

Using a screwdriver, removed the three screws from the switch housing, unlatched the harness, removed 2 additional screws from the fan switch, replaced harness, reversed reassembly. AND I WAS DONE!!!

The wiring itself was easy to install. However, pending on the fan set-up, may have to make modifications. My pull chain for the fan comes straight down the middle. ... Read moreto worry about the dome falling at any given time. No problem. I did have to add spacers between light kit and fan because the switch was now up too high to mount the light kit flush. Does not impact operations and once trim is back on, won't even be noticeable to anyone. Will have to add foam or something to avoid dirt accumulating in the light kit. You will also need to remove your old connectors and add them on the new wiring. The fan I fixed is a Hunter Cedar Ridge model.
