Door Strike
Fix Number FIX890617
Manufacturer Part Number 131763310
Located on the door of front load washing machines, the Door Strike ensures that the door will lock by activating the switch, which in turn allows the appliance to run properly. If your washer door will not open or close, is leaking, or the machine will not start or spin, your door strike may be damaged and should be replaced. Regular wear and tear, or a misaligned door may cause the piece to break. This is an easy repair and requires a Phillips screwdriver. This genuine OEM part is made of white plastic, approximately 2 inches in length, and is held in place by 2 screws on the inside of the door. Simply unscrew and remove the old part, line up the placement of the new part using the notch, and tighten the screws back into place.

Washer did not dispense cold water
lift the top of the washer and remove three hoses connected to the water valve. Disconnect both sets of wires on the water valve and remove the two screws holding it in place. Insert new water valve, screw into place, replace wires and hoses. Most difficult part of the process was removing the top hose because the ends of the clamp holding it in place were extremely small.

Front Load Washer Door Lock and Switch Assembly
Fix Number FIX12364048
Manufacturer Part Number 131763256
This door lock and switch assembly is an authentic OEM replacement part for your front load washing machine. The lock is used to prevent the door from opening while the machine is running, and the switch indicates that the door is closed, allowing the washer to begin its wash cycle. Attempting to open the washer door while it is still locked can cause damage to these parts. If your washer door will not open, close, or lock, you may need to replace the lock and switch. Please be sure to disconnect the power supply to your washer before beginning this repair.

Door would not close/latch.
Removed door from washer. With door on flat surface all the screws are easily removed to replace striker & door hinge/ bushings. Pay attention to bushings position when removing so as to replace them in the same position. Video shows a guy pulling the door gasket off to replace the door lock & switch assembly. Skip that & remove the top cover from the washer. Only two screws in the back hold it on & it's a lot easier to reach inside & pull the switch up than fighting with the door gasket. With the new door hinge, door closes easier & more solid than when brand new. Easy fix.

Once the washer filled, leaking around the spin bearing resulted
I followed the videos included with the parts on the site. Those videos were a life saver. It took a lot of liquid wrench and penetrating oil to free up some of the parts for removal, but the saving was well worth the effort. I spent extra time cleaning up the basket and tub as well as the trunnion. As it turned out the small rubber washer included with the metal washer had completely disintegrated but there was also a squealing noise indicating the spin bearing was in need of replacement. All in all it was difficult to remove the trunnion but everything else went well.

Two busted shock absorbers
The tight confines put a hammer out of the question, so I used needle nose pliers to work the pins out (using leverage against sections in the washer) and then bar clamps to force the new pins in. Bar clamps were critical to the successful installation of these pins given the lack of room I had to work with.
