There are many symptoms that may indicate an issue with your water inlet valve. These can include your washer not filling with water, it will not stop filling, the washer is leaking, or it is both filling and draining at the same time. You can test if your valve is faulty two different ways. The first is to disconnect the power while the washer fills, if water continues to fill the tub, then the valve should be replaced. The second way is to use a multimeter to test for continuity on the valve solenoids. If you do need to replace the water inlet valve, this is a genuine OEM part that has two ports and is compatible with half-inch ID hose.
