If the turntable on your microwave does not rotate, or you can hear a grinding noise, the problem may be with the motor. The motor is typically located below the floor of the oven, and is accessed through the bottom. The motor is normally held in place with a retaining screw and will have two wires attached to it as well. If the motor is making a grinding noise it will need to be replaced. If the motor does not turn, you can check for voltage or continuity with a multi-meter. Make sure the power is disconnected from your microwave before beginning this repair.

This convection fan motor assembly is designed to circulate hot air evenly throughout the oven cavity, enhancing cooking performance by eliminating hot spots and promoting uniform heat distribution. Manufactured for select ranges, ovens, and microwave oven combos, it supports consistent baking and roasting results. The motor features a shaft with right-hand threads, a key detail for proper installation and compatibility. Replacing a faulty fan motor can resolve issues such as uneven cooking or poor airflow. Installation involves securing the motor in place and connecting it to the existing wiring—always disconnect power before beginning and refer to your appliance’s manual for guidance.

Designed to prevent overheating, this cooling fan motor circulates air inside your oven to protect internal components and maintain stable cooking performance. It helps cool the control board and wiring by drawing in cool air and releasing hot air. Common signs of failure include loud noises, a fan that won’t run, or a hot control panel. Installation involves disconnecting power and replacing the motor assembly, typically located near the rear of the appliance.
